Walgrove Weekly Message

Dear Walgrove Families and Staff,

First, a huge and hearty thank you to our teachers who bring so much light and love to our kiddos! Teacher Appreciation Week is just one week of many during which we all thank those who provide for all a safe space to grow and be seen!

Second, a huge and hearty blessing to all mothers, moms, mommies and mamas who bring so much of everything to everyone. Without you, where would we be? Nowhere!

Third, a congratulations to Ms. Lima for being this year's Wave Award winner!

Fourth, a giant thank you to Ms. Webster, especially, and to all teachers of grades 3-5, of course, for captaining the state assessment vessels with such care and aplomb during the crazy assessment storm that was the last two weeks!

Fifth, a grateful thank you to Farmer Adam and all the volunteers large and small who bring the harvest in. I enjoyed a chard fritatta and kale chips this weekend, much to my Cheeto-loving body's confused confusion.

Sixth, and so importantly, a gargantuan thank you to Jill Cannon and the rest of the yearbook team for working so tirelessly on this year's yearbook AND the Willy Wonka Jr. set, costume, and tech teams for such bananas ingenuity and craftsmanship AND garden volunteers who all worked SO HARD through this weekend to bring Walgrove's charm to the fore. Nothing to say but WOW! Walgrove has such talent and commitment!

Coming up this week, we have even more to look forward to with the Spring musical Willy Wonka Jr. in Walgrove's Orlantha Ambrose Center for the Performing Arts Thursday through Sunday. It will be SCRUMDIDDLYUMPTIOUS!

We also have STEAM Fest at Fairfax High School Saturday, May 18 from 10am-1pm. Thank you, Ms. Gela and kin for representing Walgrove!
