Walgrove Weekly Message

Dear Walgrove Families and Staff, 

Welcome to the last six weeks (and two days) of school! So many emergent happenings! 

ETK and TKers become Kinders; Kinders become first graders; first graders become taller (and avid readers!); fifth graders go on to middle school (say what?!) and teachers and staff reflect on all the kiddos who have changed their lives forever. 

But until then, here is some of what is to come this week at Walgrove!

Walgrove Weekly Message

Dear Walgrove Families and Staff, 

A huge shoutout to all the many volunteers who made this year's Monarch Fest a HUGE success!

From the incredibly well-attended prospective family kinder playdate (thank you, Ms. B., for being there to chat with families!) to the tasty food truck and food stands; super-exciting bike maze; fun and muddy Water Play area in the Sensory Garden; the mobile-making, fan-making and face-painting stations; swag store; scavenger hunt; Coding Crew zone; and the wonderful concert by 20 of the kiddos in the Walgrove section of the Angel City Youth Chorale -- all ending with a joyful and spirited Open Mic!

What a day we had!!

I don't have pics of SO MANY THINGS, including the bike maze, folks on roller skates, Red saying to me in between ACYC songs while on stage, "I AM HAVING THE MOST FUN I HAVE EVER HAD!") and several of the Open Mic performances, because my phone died (as it does!). So, please forward me photos to add AND visit our social media sites!

Dear Walgrove Families and Staff, 

A huge shoutout to volunteers, student docents and Farmer Adam for an incredible Theodore Payne Native Garden Tour where 500+ folks from around California checked out our Wildlands, edible garden, chickens and more. They RAVED about all that they saw, which means they love what YOU have all created!

I was busy gabbing at the gate and then my phone died, so if anyone got better pics, please send them along, and I'll update this page!! (Thanks, Jill, for already sending some!)
