Walgrove Weekly Message

Dear Walgrove Families and Staff, 

First, a ginormous congratulations for Ms. Zeena as she spends this weekend receiving from Howard University's Center for African Studies the CABA award for "Best Picture Book!"

Congratulations, Ms. Zeena!!!

Next, a gargantuan thank you to Ms. Francesca, Ms. Gela and Jack and Jason Jabara for helping me host a table at the E-Choices Fair at LA High Tuesday night. We were honored to represent our newly designated SAS school at this SAS and Magnet school fair!

Here is some of what is coming up this week at Walgrove!

MON

Tap Dance to Start for kiddos in UTK-1 (Penmar picks up the tap-dance kiddos late) 2:32-3:15pm

Tutoring for some in grades 3-5 in Rm 24 2:45-3:15pm

Advanced Math for those in grades 4-5 who earned a 3 or 4 on last year's SBAC Rm 20 2:32-3:30pm

TUE

Staff Meeting and PD Rm 19 1:45pm 

Angel City Youth Chorale (sign up here) (Penmar picks up the choir kiddos late) 1:45-3:00pm

E-Choices Fair -- Learn about SAS, Magnet and other Gifted schools virtually over Zoom 5-6:30pm

WED

Ms. Chin's class goes on a field trip!

Tutoring for some in grades 3-5 in Rm 24 2:45-3:15pm

Chess before, during, and after school.

THU - HALLOWEEN

Halloween Spooktacular parade 9am. Stick around after drop off and watch your kiddo parade!

Kiddos: Wear a costume. No blood/gore that scares the tiniest, no weapons, and no masks except for a hot second during the parade. We need to be able to see your face right beforehand and afterward and then all day long :)

FRI - DAY OF THE DEAD

Friday morning assembly. Ms. DeWig's class to lead the Pledge. Jennifer Jabara to perform for Day of the Dead 8:05am

Coffee and Diet Coke with the Principal in the Parent Center 8:30am

Violin in the Library (bring your violin to the Library by Lunch so Danielle can tune it) 2:32-3:32pm
