Walgrove Weekly Message

Dear Walgrove Families and Staff,

Welcome back after a winterful three-week break!

Here are some anouncements/reminders:

>> COVID protocols remain: Test as needed/desired. If positive, isolate for five days and return to school/work on Day 6 if no fever and symptoms have improved. No need to test to return. Mask through Day 10. Don't come to school sick.

>> The Lost and Found is still in my office. I did NOT yet donate items because Winter Academy items were added, and I want those folks to have a chance to retrieve their beloved items as well. Come on by my office to see what is yours. Please only take what is yours.

>> Parent Nina Madjid will host a parent community circle starting again next week (not this week) so stay tuned!

>> The after-school program is in full swing until 6pm. If you haven't yet applied for this year, apply here https://drive.google.com/file/d/1fVR_-mEm2T70fHpk-q8l5mFUCguO8yzq/view and email your application to andrea.kittelson1@lausd.net and coreyh@starinc.org

>> The grass will root for two more weeks. The District will take the fence down January 19. Thank you for your patience!

>> Tutoring with high school students in the library will begin after MLK Day

>> Angel City Youth Chorale starts this Tuesday at 1:45. All students welcome

>> Violin starts this Friday. All students grades 2-5 welcome

>> Tap starts next week (not this week). All students welcome

>> Teacher Kaila will be out this week so no theater during the school day

>> Farmer Adam is here so there will be garden

>> STEAM Studio will be in full swing

Chess is potentially an option to add! (?) Please complete a survey to gauge your interest in bringing chess to school (via Jonny Machtig) three days a week during recess, lunch and classes in between.
